About The HEMRC

Move. Connect. Create

I’m Joaquin Elizondo, ACE – a Film & TV editor and marathon runner.

I created the Hollywood Editing Mentor Run Club because I wanted to bring editors and filmmakers together in a way that goes beyond the usual networking events. Our industry can be isolating, with long hours spent in dark rooms, so I saw an opportunity to build a community that encourages both connection and movement.

I also don’t buy into the idea that editors can’t be active. I think we hear that too often, and it can have a negative influence on us. But the truth is, we can be active, and we should be. Running has played a huge role in helping me achieve my career goals—it’s not just about staying healthy, but also about clearing my mind, sparking creativity, and keeping me motivated. This club isn’t about performance or competition—it’s about getting outside, moving, and meeting like-minded people in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Whether we’re jogging, walking, or just grabbing a coffee after, the goal is to foster real connections, inspire creativity, and create a space where editors can support each other—both professionally and personally.
